Healthy Sweet Treats That Are Actually Simple

Have a sweet tooth? You don't need complicated recipes, specialty ingredients, or hours in the kitchen to enjoy something sweet.

Sometimes, the best treats are the simplest ones.

Healthy eating doesn't have to mean giving up the foods you love. It can simply mean finding easy ways to satisfy a craving while adding some nutritional value along the way.

Here are a few of my favorite simple sweet treats to try when the sweet tooth hits.

Banana with Honey & Cinnamon

Slice a banana, drizzle it with a little honey, and sprinkle on some cinnamon. That's it!

It's sweet, satisfying, and takes less than a minute to make. If you want a little more staying power, add a spoonful of peanut or almond butter.

Dates

Sometimes you don't need to make anything at all.

Grab a couple of dates when you're craving something sweet. They're naturally sweet and chewy, making them a great little treat when you want something that feels like dessert.

Want to dress them up? Stuff them with a little nut butter.

Apple Pie Greek Yogurt

This one tastes like dessert but is incredibly simple.

Warm up some apple pie filling and spoon it over plain or vanilla Greek yogurt. Sprinkle with cinnamon, and you've got an easy apple-pie-inspired treat.

The Greek yogurt also adds protein, which can help make your snack more satisfying.

Berries & Greek Yogurt

Keep it simple: berries + Greek yogurt.

Add a drizzle of honey if you want a little extra sweetness. You can also sprinkle on some cinnamon, chopped nuts, or a few dark chocolate chips.

Dark Chocolate & Fruit

Pair a few pieces of dark chocolate with strawberries, banana slices, or your favorite fruit.

You get the chocolate you're craving while also adding fruit to the mix.

No-Bake Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

My simple recipe:

  • 1/4 cup dry quick oats

  • Cinnamon to taste (or pumpkin pie spice)

  • 1 1oz box of raisins

  • 2 Tbs cashew butter

This is one individual serving, which is three cookies.

You Don't Have to Make Healthy Eating Complicated

This is something I want you to remember: healthy doesn't have to mean complicated.

You don't need a Pinterest-worthy recipe every time you want something sweet. It's all about finding a way of eating that is simple, sustainable, and works for your life.

I hope this has served you well!
